Fumigation against termites in Mérida Yucatán
Subterranean termite treatment (Colloquially called "Comejen")
It would be very difficult to list and describe every detail of the treatment needed to control subterranean termites. Soil treatment is the main method used in control and the wide variety of construction types makes it necessary for SANIDEC to think in terms of control principles and to adapt the methods to each situation. Termite baits are another method that require different considerations, while physical barriers, such as metal mesh, are a third method that require a number of different considerations.
Chemical treatments for termite control
Sometimes the application of a chemical barrier will be sufficient for subterranean termite control. Other times the factors related to a certain structure dictate that the use of non-chemical methods in combination with chemical methods to obtain adequate structural protection.
At SANIDEC we choose the chemical products for termite control and the most appropriate techniques depending on the situation of the work to be carried out.

The main objective of the treatment of termites or termites as they are usually called in Yucatan, is to establish a chemical barrier between their nests, commonly located in the ground, and the wood of the structure. In construction buildings this is achieved by keeping the wood out of contact with the ground and penetrating the soil of the structure with insecticide to establish a barrier. In the case of constructed buildings, POST CONSTRUCTION Treatment, the barriers are made with termiticides or by modifying the existing structure to generate a mechanical barrier.
